If you think a new car is expensive, think again – aside from the car you need to spend money on some car cleaning materials. Washing a car won't help with the water bills either. But as an alternative you can always use homemade car cleaning products.

Here are some sample car cleaners you can easily prepare at home.

Homemade car cleaner recipes

Car soap – Car soap isn't as complex as manufacturers would like you to think. In fact it's so simple that you can make it in your own kitchen. Here are the ingredients on how to make car soap:
1 cup dish liquid detergent – some say ivory works well
    12 T powder laundry detergent
    1 bucket of water

Car wax – Carnuba is an important ingredient in making homemade car wax. Carnuba provides a protective layer for the car's paint. Here's a recipe for a carnuba-based car wax:
    4 tablespoons carnuba wax
    2 tablespoons beeswax
    ½ cup vinegar
    1 cup linseed oil

Put everything in top half of a saucepan. Heat slowly, wait for wax to melt, then stir. Pour into a heat-resistant container. Let it stand for a while to allow the solution to cool and harden.

Tire cleaner – Even tire cleaners got homemade alternatives. You can use a soft scrub and bleach to clean your tires.
But if you only want to use homemade ingredients, here's another recipe:
    non-abrasive scrubber
    ¼ cup borax
    ¼ tsp. lemon oil
    vegetable oil-based liquid soap
    1 tsp. bleach
These ingredients work just as well in cleaning tires as regular bleach.

Windshield wiper – Here's a simple recipe for making homemade windshield wiper:
Mix 1 part water with 3 parts vinegar and fill up your liquid reservoir with the resulting solution. You can also use it to clean the car windows when you're washing the car.
